Kayaking at the Beach

Yesterday, my Dad and I went kayaking to my favorite spot. At high tide, this rocky area off the coast of Goose Rocks Beach is mostly underwater. However, with the help of a tide chart, or a little luck, the rocks make a fun obstacle course to maneuver the kayaks around.

You can watch wildlife (You may even spot the occasional seal 🦭), look out at the beautiful scenery, or get out and explore. Most importantly, this is home to one of my favorite rocks on the planet.

The rock in question emerges from the water only at low tide and, in my opinion, makes a perfect bench. Situated away from the shore the voices of beach goers are muffled by the sound of the wind and the waves. The shallow water at your feet is warm and there are 360 degrees of views. The perfect place to rest and skip some stones before kayaking back to shore.

Like on my previous visits, I meandered through the rocks, making my way to my favorite rock. I took full advantage of the rock’s time above water and sat, appreciating every moment, until it was completely submerged again.
